For Referring Professionals

Referral information for professional partners.

Use this page to review concerns that may warrant an evaluation and to contact BSPS about current services, clinician qualifications, referral requirements, and secure information exchange.

How to refer a patient

  1. Confirm fit and availability

Call BSPS to confirm that the relevant evaluation or therapy is currently offered at an appropriate location and to ask about clinician qualifications.

  2. Use the approved secure channel

Ask which approved method to use before transmitting protected health information, records, or referral documentation.

  3. Direct the patient or caregiver to intake

After confirming the referral process, ask the patient or caregiver to complete the secure Ocean Friends new-patient intake requested by BSPS.

  4. Coordinate with authorization

Discuss report timing and how clinical updates may be shared when the patient or authorized representative has provided the required authorization.

Have a patient in mind?

Call BSPS to confirm current services, clinician availability, and the approved secure referral method before sending records. Ocean Friends is the patient and caregiver intake step; it is not a provider referral form.
